The role

Reporting to the Stakeholder Relations Manager, you will work with a dedicated team of stakeholder relations and communication professionals, and cross-functionally with other business units, to develop and deliver community relations initiatives.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as key advisor on community education campaigns, providing strategic and tactical support.
  • Managing the community investment strategy and program, providing high level governance oversight and business support.
  • Working with councils and emergency management groups near Sunwater’s assets to build community resilience.
  • Working with councils and emergency management groups to manage Emergency Action Plan amendments and education.
  • Managing the development of written and visual material, social media content and corporate collateral to support initiatives.
  • Producing clear and effective communication materials for community stakeholders
  • Coordinating responses to stakeholder, media and community enquiries

Please note that due to the nature of this role, there will be ad hoc travel to Sunwater regional facilities. You will also be required to participate in flood, emergency and media on-call rosters as required. This role can be based in any Sunwater Office (subject to space) – please see a list of office locations at Sunwater offices - Sunwater .

About you

Sunwater is looking for someone with strong proven experience in community engagement with the ability to develop ideas that bring behavioural change. Furthermore, you will hold tertiary qualifications in in communication, public relations or a related discipline.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate experience in:

  • Budget and project management
  • Leading or having been an instrumental part in executing advertising campaigns
  • Working in regional communities (ideal, not mandatory)
  • Mentoring and coaching team members
