Overview Gallagher Bassett is Australia's largest Third Party Administrator (TPA). Our focus is refreshingly simple: we manage insurance claims on behalf of insurers, brokers, government bodies and self-insured corporations. And, we want YOU to be a part of it all With significant expansion across our business, we are seeking a Capability and Technical Specialist to support our Self-Insurance business. You will report through to the Technical and Performance Improvement Manager and will work closely with a team of specialists. You will be aligned with our claims teams for coaching, capability improvement activities and complex technical support. This is an exceptional opportunity to bring your existing skills and experience to a role which truly adds value to the development of our people and service offerings. This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with a flexible hybrid working approach and we are open to remote workers.

In this role, you will:

  1. Provide on-the-job technical and operational training and coaching for new staff or transferred staff
  2. Work closely with the Team Manager to identify gaps in staff knowledge/skills, & develop necessary programs or coaching solutions to meet the needs of individual staff
  3. Stay abreast of regulatory and legislative changes
  4. Maintain a high level of Technical knowledge and be a go-to for technical support for Case Managers and Clients
  5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as an escalation point of contact for complex technical inquiries and support
  6. Provide expert technical advice and guidance to clients throughout complex technical matters, including conciliation and legal processes
  7. Understand Operational systems, processes, and procedures to ensure staff queries can be addressed and communicated effectively
  8. Support the business unit in relation to championing and implementing changes
  9. In liaison with the relevant Team Manager, ensure that capability gaps are identified, addressed, and monitored to the required standard of performance
  10. Ensure that Processes and Procedures are updated and communicated accordingly
About you We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and customer-centric individuals who have:
  1. Significant experience in Victorian Workers Compensation claims management
  2. Previous experience in a technical or specialist advisory role would be highly regarded
  3. A strong knowledge of relevant VIC workers compensation legislation and frameworks
  4. A strong knowledge of technical skills or experience in complex claims
  5. Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  6. Excellent attention to detail
  7. Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to coach and engage at all levels of the organization
  8. A strong sense of team and collaboration
  9. A resilient attitude
