About the opportunity

The School of Medicine is looking for an MD Project Coordinator to join their team.

This position will coordinate and oversee Hobart Clinical School (HCS) medical student professional practice projects (MD projects) under the direction of the Director, Hobart Clinical School.

In this role you will work as part of the HCS academic team to assist students with project development and implementation throughout the duration of their MD projects.

The role will provide opportunities for participation in research activities. In addition, the position will provide advice and assistance to academic and clinical staff who are managing and supervising student MD projects.

As the new MD Project Coordinator, you will liaise with colleagues in other organisational units within the College of Health and Medicine, including each Clinical School, as well as with external project partners.

What you’ll do:

• Facilitate development of research projects and ensure a positive experience for students and supervisors participating in MD projects.
• Use project management knowledge to coordinate and oversee Clinical School medical student professional practice and research projects, in close collaboration with the academic and other clinical school staff.
• Develop and deliver education and training in project management and research skills within the medical curriculum.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside and outside the University including with industry partners and the wider community.

What we’re looking for:

• A PhD in a relevant discipline or a Bachelor level qualification in a relevant area with subsequent project management or research experience in a health care discipline
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in the successful management of projects.
• Demonstrated experience or capacity to contribute to undergraduate teaching using online and face-to-face delivery modes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, staff and stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $147,083 comprising base salary within the range of $108,285 to $125,712 plus 17% superannuation.
