Our Opportunity

PROK is currently recruiting for a Lead Draftsperson The position is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Bayswater, WA.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Developing and maintaining PROK internal tools, including parametric configuration models, to enable efficient design and drafting across the product lines
  • Developing and maintaining standard templates, design and drawing procedures (in consultation with Principal engineers and management) to ensure consistency across the product lines.
  • Developing and maintaining PLM architecture.
  • Approving drawings as appropriate, escalating to engineering for approval as required.
  • Review and understand client drawings and requirements, providing guidance to team on consistent execution of the same
  • Driving standardisation of component parts where practicable to minimise variation
  • Supporting engineers and sales team in preparation of designs and drawings for standard and special customer specific products and components
  • Driving works programs to proactively document designs and drawings to enable pricing and rapid supply where customer requirements are known prior to orders.
  • Supporting transitioning of legacy IP into the approved design program as defined by business requirements.
  • Develop third party drafting resources to manage peaks in demand.
  • Create sales and manufacturing drawings for aftermarket, refurbishment or project orders.
  • Support Documentation requirements for IOM and part manuals

The Right Person

To be considered for this opportunity, the right person will have:

  • Engineering degree / diploma or related discipline
  • 10-years’ experience in drafting for industrial environments
  • 5 years experience as Senior of Lead Draftsperson is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering engineering designs in a complex environment
  • Customer focussed outlook and key relationship development
  • Enthusiastic and receptive in interaction with clients
  • Experience in providing quality client focus both internally & externally
  • Ability to implement and improve systems, policies and procedures
  • Good planning, organisational & time management skills
  • Good communication (written & verbal) skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members
  • Inventor, Solidworks or similar parametric 3D design software
  • Vault or similar PDM software.
  • Knowledge of standards and design principles, inclusive of to AS4100 / AS3990 / AS1170
