About the Centre/Service
Heidelberg Occasional Child Care Centre is a small not-for-profit organisation with a parent committee that governs the centre's operations, in collaboration with the Centre Director.
HOCC is licensed to provide education and care for 21 children per day & is currently undertaking transformational change to meet the needs of our community here in Banyule.
HOCC is an Occasional Care early childhood service that has been operating in the Banyule community for 35 years and continues to offers care & education to children aged 6 months to 6 years of age, in a multi-age learning environment with a large natural outdoor environment.
HOCC is an occasional care early childhood service and is therefore not regulated under the NQF so no mountains of paperwork We focus on nurturing responsive relationships with children & providing stimulating play spaces & intentional teaching, for children to thrive & to develop a love of lifelong learning.
Heidelberg Occasional Child Care operates from 8.30am - 4.30pm (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) and 9am - 2pm (Wednesday & Friday) throughout the year with a 4-week closure over the Christmas/ New Year period.

Your contribution will ensure all children and families flourish in a nurturing and enriching environment.
This is a hybrid role of working on the floor & supporting the Director, in administrative duties, across the week.
Your enthusiasm, passion and commitment to providing high quality education and care will enhance the embedding of continuous improvement to achieve positive outcomes for children families, community and staff.

What does success look like in this role?
- You will build and maintain meaningful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the centre community.
- Participate as an active member of a highly experienced and reputable Team and Organisation.
- Engage in career building opportunities
- Promote leadership and professional development of educators through coaching and reflective practice
- Assist the Director to manage the daytoday operations of the centre, including childcare staff practices, promotion and marketing of community related services.
- Support and implement budget and efficiencies including rosters/staffing
- Advocate for the inclusion of children and families with additional needs and diverse backgrounds, ensuring professional support agencies and personnel are utilised when appropriate.

Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Assistant Director/ Educational Leader working in Centre Based Childcare this is preferred but not essential.
- Childcare relevant qualification such as Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or an experienced Diploma of Children's Services.
- Sound, practical working knowledge and implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework & the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
- Strong understanding of rostering and managing the movement of staff
- Current First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma.
- Knowledge of EYLF and WH&S Policies.
- Mandatory Reporting Certificate and a current & valid
WWCC. - Experience with Qikkids software is essential.
