About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to implement, manage and support the network infrastructure (physical, virtual, public/private cloud environments) for one of our clients in the hospitality industry.

As a Cloud Network Engineer, your role would involve the following responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and managing cloud network infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Developing network architecture blueprints, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, routing tables, security groups, and network access control policies.
  • Configuring and maintaining network services such as VPNs, load balancers, firewalls, and DNS.
  • Implementing and managing network connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments, including hybrid cloud setups.
  • Monitoring and optimizing network performance, availability, and scalability to ensure efficient and reliable network operations.
  • Implementing and maintaining network security measures, including network segmentation, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving network issues, working closely with cross-functional teams and cloud service providers as necessary.
  • Automating network provisioning, configuration, and management tasks using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and orchestration tools.
  • Collaborating with DevOps and development teams to ensure network requirements are met for application deployments and infrastructure changes.
  • Staying up to date with emerging cloud networking technologies, best practices, and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working as a Network Engineer, with a focus on cloud networking.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, BGP, MPLS).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud networking services and technologies, such as AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, Google Cloud VPC, and associated components.
  • Proficiency in network security principles and best practices, including firewall configurations, access controls, and network segmentation.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking architectures and patterns, including hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, as well as network performance optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices, with the ability to collaborate with DevOps teams for network automation and integration.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Our projects are primarily long-term, from 6 months to 2 years. During that time, we will discuss the career progression training that you can undertake and make sure you keep learning through your engagement
