South East Asia Pacific Engineering (SEAP) is an Engineering and Mining Services Company based on Lihir Island, Papua New Guinea. We focus on providing products and services to PNG mining clients. The company’s reputation is built on successfully completing projects in remote and sometimes challenging locations.

The Role

This is a hands-on role tasked with actively working in and managing the day-to-day functions of the business. You will be working closely with personnel to drive performance focused on improving the organisation’s culture & productivity whilst maintaining safety, growing the business and managing strategic & operational change that significantly moulds and shapes the organisation to better position itself as a competitive, commercial entity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of quotes and submission to clients
  • Co-ordinating the ordering and delivery process 
  • Development of supply lines and purchasing contracts
  • Manage the purchase process of high value large mining equipment for hire or resale
  • Uphold and reinforce the importance of Quality & Safety in all aspects of the business 
  • Drive business development, identify and actively pursue new business and new clients
  • Oversee work processes
  • Management of all contractors
  • Develop and continuously review strategies, policies and plans to deliver contractual requirements of clients
  • Identify operational inefficiencies, mitigate risks, and maintain quality standards. Implement and review improvement ideas, review effectiveness and champion the continuous improvement process loop
  • Prepare sales & operations reports 

Your skills and experience

  • Proven track record of successful operations leadership in mining services or manufacturing operations, supply chain management, and quality control
  • Strong leadership and operational management skills
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in previous Managerial roles
  • Well-developed customer and supplier engagement skills
  • A commitment to quality, safety and operational excellence
  • Expatriate experience working in Papua New Guinea, South-East Asia or Africa
