About the Position
An exciting role has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering team. Based in our Pakenham head office and reporting to the Engineering Manager, you are responsible for the design, component selection, fabrication, installation and commissioning of power generation mechanical systems including diesel / gaseous fuel systems, ventilation systems, exhaust systems and cooling systems. With a multitude of exciting projects underway, you will be immersed in a supportive culture where you can let your innovation and “out of the box” thinking lead you to an effective and efficient solution for complex problems.
About You
You are an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering position. You thrive in a challenging and fast paced working environment, enjoy collaborating with high performing teams and get a kick out of solving complex challenges and designing mechanical systems. You have an eye for detail and welcome all aspects of engineering ranging from theoretical and computation design, to hands on works with our tradesmen and technicians when testing and commissioning. You have a wealth of experience in a fast paced and dynamic work environment such as fabrication workshop or construction. Experience in power generation is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Relevant industry experience and tertiary qualification
- Exceptional time management and communication skills
- Relevant mechanical and technical design knowledge such as piping design, ventilation design and mechanical structures.
- Knowledge of local Australian standards relevant to mechanical design
- Strong skills acquired from on-the-job projects experience.
The remuneration package on offer will be commensurate with demonstrated skills and experience.
