Skyroad Group is a specialist transport and logistics provider servicing major airlines, logistics majors, and primarily linking major airports in Australia. Our future capability and growth includes services for major clients in Australian niches of high compliance and high service level transport.

As part of our growth we are after a Operations Manager (nee Supervisor) for our transport depot and warehouse located nearby to Sydney Airport, with the role being part of our expanding National Operations Centre team based in Sydney.

To be successful in this role you must have strong focus and capability on planning of LTL transport (Less Than Trailerload), ideally an understanding of air cargo, supervisory skills, and customer focus. Processes and checklists are not things that get in your way, rather they assure your team's performance. You know a Kenworth from a Scania, and you know what safety factors are important to turn fleet around and send out onto the highway. You are multitasking, able to handle pressure, and understand sometimes customers need you to sort things out before the end of your day, but there's flexibility in return. You have experience dealing with trucks and forklifts and you should hold:

  • a forklift licence is preferred (either held now or required within probationary period);
  • experience to qualify for (or already have) fatigue management allocator accreditation; and
  • qualifications and/or experience in transport operations or air cargo operations

Lastly, you are comfortable getting out and seeing your customers face to face and understanding their key needs and giving them surety they are being met.

The role is salaried with exposure to a shift roster and rotating weekend roster for on-call management of the network over weekends. Days in lieu are offered or a salary uplift can be taken for weekends.

You must be able to demonstrate:

  • a cleared Australian Federal Police criminal check
  • 100 points of Australian identification
  • Australian citizenship or at least 5 years of Australian permanent residency with supportable history of addresses and details for AFP checks
  • ability to hold an Australian Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • at least 2 years of supervisory and management experience in a transportation (trucking) environment;
  • at least 12 months use of a Transport Management System (TMS, Cargowise or similar experience highly desired) including demand management, planning, manifesting and completion of billing deliverables
  • proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Sharepoint, and Outlook
  • prior roles managing linehaul and local drivers

Our salaried base remuneration is in the range of $95,000 to $110,000 depending on candidate, with other benefits being negotiable. Company wide bonuses are paid on merit and achieving company goals.
