As the Delivery Manager for Data and AI Services, you will report to the Head of Data Services. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with the Data Services leadership team, broader technology teams, and key business stakeholders, you will ensure that projects are focused, delivered on time, and meet high-quality standards.
Roles that report to this position include:
- Data Domains (Matrix) - as key consumers and customers of the data platforms fostering enduring relationships will be key to ongoing delivery success and engagement.
- Project Managers - align and support Project Managers who will, from time to time, be engaged to deliver larger projects either within PT or TDD more generally.
- Operations - work with the Data Leaders and Operations to ensure alignment of capex and opex activities and optimise the delivery resources to accelerate delivery velocity.
- Architecture (Matrix) - work closely with assigned Enterprise, Domain, and Solution Architects to ensure alignment across the enterprise from a strategy, project, and governance perspective.
Responsibilities
- Work across the domain teams to prepare, estimate, align and present platform delivery roadmaps.
- Manage interdependencies and priorities relating to upcoming initiatives within the domain
- Lead the estimate generation process for initiatives approved by the Project and Strategy team
- Develop reporting (Individual and aggregate) of projects across the domain
- Oversee project budgets, working closely with stakeholders ensuring effective cost reporting and management.
- Assist in the identification and removal of blockers and obstacles from an operations and project perspective
- Work with cross-departmental teams responsible for the successful forward planning and execution of initiatives in conjunction with agreed technology and business domains
- Driving cross team collaboration and engagement for seamless business execution; collaborating with team members and assessing opportunities to improve processes and execution.
- Cultivate strong, collaborative working relationships with the wider IT and business functions as well as 3rd parties, ensuring that deliverables are aligned to overriding requirements and expectations
- Proactively work to identify opportunities to remove inefficiencies with a continual improvement mindset across operations and projects
Who are you?
- You are a person who thrives on supporting a diverse team in succeeding in their goals, being ambitious and realising the bigger picture of the business
- You can lead and influence, driving action - irrespective of the technology stack in question. You have a proven track record of effective Project Delivery and have ideally supported organisations through periods of large-scale transformation
- With strong stakeholder engagement, powerful communication skills, and the ability to get into the details when required, you can convey key insights, recommendations and reports/presentations using data to validate your position
- Strategy - a proven track record in delivery and facilitating strategy implementation, including the ability to easily distil and articulate complex issues and remediation proposals. A core measure of success will include bringing all cohorts and stakeholders along the journey in a positive manner.
- Leadership - at ease working with, guiding, and negotiating between a varied team across traditional line management, matrix management, and with service providers (embedded, offsite, and offshore)
- Commercial - a mid-level of commercial acumen, financial literacy and a sound degree of comfort working with project budget planning and reporting.
- Positive, pragmatic, and Resilient - this role operates in an ever-changing environment. These attributes will be key to success in the role.
- Collaborative, approachable, and engaging - the ability to build cross-team consensus on challenging issues often within a matrix environment.
- Curious - with a continual improvement mindset you will have the ability to challenge norms inquisitive as to how and why - as opposed to this is how we have always done it.
