Lowcountry Pet Hospice and Home Euthanasia's mission is to provide compassionate, dignified care at the end of a pet's life. During an often sad and stressful time, our sole purpose is to help families determine the best path for their pet and guide them through difficult decisions with peace of mind. We strive to provide wrap around care from time of diagnosis, work as a team with primary and specialty veterinarians as well as their staff, until a natural passing or home euthanasia is requested. We also provide cremation services by Aquamation, alkaline hydrolysis, for those who choose an alternative to the fire-based method.

We are currently hiring for veterinarians in the state of South Carolina:

Support provided from our home office include:

Prescheduled appointments

- Clients either schedule online, through our automated phone system, or by talking to our live CSR

Client Screening

- All appointments are verified by our in-house veterinary assistant.

Administrative Support

- Phone/text support, client email communication, primary and specialist records requesting, Rx request.

Payment Processing

- Cost of services and payment is discussed ahead of time, so at the appointment you can focus on the family and their pet.

Simple, Intuitive, and mobile friendly software systems

- There is no one perfect EMR system for mobile veterinarians, but we have streamlined scheduling, payment, and record keeping so you are informed and prepared for each appointment.

Flexible

Each appointment is typically scheduled for 1 hour with an additional hour between to ensure travel time. Typical workday is 8a - 6p (4 appointments) and all communications are supported by an in-house CSR.

Responsibilities:

- A willingness to step into a family's home and assist a pet's passing among loved ones.

- To be compassionate and patient with families and pets while working independently.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

- Follow best practices set forth by the IAAHPC and CAETA.

- Maintain short and concise medical records in a timely manner.

- Perform technical abilities of medication administration by either IV catheter and/or alternative routes if necessary

- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted (if greater, assistance will be ensured) and carry a short distance to prepare the pet for aftercare services if necessary.

- Store and transport controlled medications from your preferred office space/home as set forth by SCDHEC.

Qualifications:

SC driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Professional liability coverage required and umbrella policy suggested. DEA license and SC Control Drug License. Education must include having earned a DVM from an accredited program and holding a current SC state license. It is recommended, though not required, to have a current Rabies titer.
