We need aSenior Business Development / Business Managementprofessional to take the helm of their Australian office inMelbourne. This role is pivotal in driving local business and customer development initiatives while overseeing a talented team of engineers dedicated to communication product development.

What you'll do:

Business Development:

  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in Australia using our cutting-edge products and expertise.
  • Craft and execute strategic business development plans to meet and exceed growth targets in the Australian and adjacent markets.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to inform and shape business strategies.
  • Pursue and secure grants and other funding opportunities to support the development of new products and applications.
  • Lead negotiations and close high-value deals with potential clients and partners.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with international management to define and implement business strategies that align with our ambitious goals.
  • Drive the creation of new product lines and market expansion initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities and mitigate threats.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support robust strategic planning.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of approximately 10 staff members, fostering a culture of high performance and innovation.
  • Set ambitious performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching to help your team excel.
  • Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and finance, to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee and enhance quality processes and procedures throughout the product development and sales process.
  • Provide general site oversight and administration to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

What you'll need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Electronics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in business development, business management, or sales within the semiconductor or electronics industry.
  • Track Record:Proven success in achieving and exceeding business development targets.
  • Technical Knowledge:Strong understanding of communication technology products and market dynamics.
  • Electronics Expertise: Direct experience in the electronics field is essential.
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
