Bowness Stud & Watershed Farm near Young, NSW is seeking an experienced Foaling Attendant to work nights during foaling season (end July - November). Ongoing, longer term employment is also available.
The following skills are required:
Previous foaling experience and the ability to foal down mares on your own.
Experience with the care of neonatal foals and administering medication.
The ability to work alone and record information.
Current drivers licence.
The position involves living on farm in single accommodation, monitoring mares through the night and responding to foaling alarms to deliver foals. Must be confident in handling strong thoroughbreds and experienced in administering medication to mares and foals. Support staff will be on call to assist when needed.
