Our client is a high-end, full-service events and incentive company based in Melbourne. They are passionate about delivering bespoke and expertly executed domestic and international conferences and incentives, with exceptional customer service. Their knowledge, network and creativity ensure that their clients can achieve their desired outcomes, inspiring and exciting their attendees with once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Event Director to join their Events Team. Managing one of their key clients and delivering two major annual programs, including a large-scale multi-day domestic conference and expo, and a week-long incentive program for their top achievers.

The role: 

  • Working closely with the Operations Manager and Client to ensure that event briefs and budgets are fully understood and logistically sound, providing proactive solutions when necessary. This is a hands-on, client facing senior event role
  • Overseeing the entire lifecycle of conferences and incentives, from initial planning to flawless execution 
  • Creating and maintaining accurate files, budgets & critical paths to adhere to deadlines and budgets 
  • Manage supplier and venue sourcing, contracting and working relationships 
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with client leadership teams to ensure all event objectives are met
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of your clients’ business, culture, strategy and direction to develop effective event solutions which meet clients’ objectives and budget 
  • Utilise leadership skills to develop and mentor Event Managers and Coordinators on the project team, fostering a culture of excellence and achieving project success
Candidate profile:  
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated corporate event management experience, ideally within the conferencing and incentive sectors 
  • Strong understanding of the MICE industry and suppliers 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience in leading/working within a team to achieve proven successful results 
  • Critical thinker and problem solver 
  • Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail are essential 
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and ensure stakeholder engagement 
  • Proficiency in negotiation, coupled with a demonstrated track record of successful budget management
