RAW MATERIALS DEVELOPER | INNOVATION | PYRMONT, NSW
Due to growth and some exciting upcoming projects in our Design Innovation team, we have an opportunity available for an experienced Raw Materials Developer.
This role focuses on sourcing and developing new and innovative raw materials across a range of categories for our amazing BONDS products and other Hanesbrands.
We are looking for someone who is excited about innovation and product development with proven experience partnering with design teams to make practical recommendations. What is the role?
- You will conduct research of new materials including yarns, knitting methods, new fabric treatments and dyeing/ printing techniques
- Develop new and innovative materials for the brands, ensuring these are Fit for Purpose, meet our HAA Quality Requirements and Sustainability Goals.
- Support the execution of department objectives and initiatives
- Organize and maintain fabric inventory for Sydney Lab
- Ensuring our Product Line Management (PLM) database is consistently updated and accurate
- Collaborate and support satellite offices to identify strategic initiatives and process improvement opportunities
What experience we are looking for?
- 3 + years of related experience in the apparel/fashion textile industry, with experience in developing and sourcing fabrics and trims.
- Understanding of product design and development process, from inception through to production
- Strategic problem-solving skills with the ability to provide insights and make practical recommendations
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to build strong business relationships
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- You are a team player with an incredible work ethic
- Strong attention to detail and data integrity
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of database systems (e.g. PLM) is advantageous
- You will hold Textile Technology qualifications
