A part-time technical assistant (10 hours per week) is immediately available at the Department of Evolutionary Biology. In addition to cooperation in general matters such as laboratory hygiene and the provision of chemicals, support for the scientific staff in morphological and molecular biological working methods such as immunofluorescence staining, microscopy, DNA/RNA extraction, gene expression analyzes and a contribution to the administration of essential equipment in the department (microscopes, CT ).

**Extent of Employment**: 10 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: -54 VwGr. IIIa with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

The tasks of the technical assistant include:

- Support of the scientific staff and students with laboratory work, especially in the field of immunocytochemistry and in situ hybridization:

- Participation in the administration of the central infrastructure of the Department of Evolutionary Biology (microscopes, CT)
- Participation in the preparation of courses of the department
- Participation in general laboratory matters (laboratory hygiene, provision of chemicals, etc.)

**Profile**: - Practical experience in the areas of immunofluorescence staining, DNA/RNA extraction, in situ hybridization
- Further experience with modern morphological evaluation methods (microscopy, CT) is advantageous
- Good written and spoken English knowledge. Knowledge of German advantageous
- very high ability to work in a team
- User knowledge MS Office incl. Word, Power Point, EXCEL
