Category Manager Wires

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Category Manager to oversee the steel category, specifically hose wire and steel cable/cord, on a global scale. This role will involve managing a substantial spend, covering multiple manufacturing sites in Europe and Asia. As the Global Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, optimizing supplier relationships, achieving cost savings, and supporting business growth.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement procurement strategy for the category with special focus to meet requirement of internal customers and long term company goals.
- Perform global negotiations with current suppliers
- Supplier Relationship Management (optimize: supplier portfolio, payment terms, logistics, manage all cooperation issues)
- Identifying saving potentials and implement derived saving actions to achieve cost saving targets
- Close cooperation with internal customers in terms of orders planning, volume allocation, continuous tracking and claim handling
- Provide global market information to stakeholders to support business
- Actively looking for new potential suppliers worldwide
- Auditing and developing existing and potential suppliers
- Conduct ‘make or buy’ analysis to support decision making on business case

**Requirements**:

- Academical degree in Business Administration or Technical Engineering
- Very good English skills (advanced Chinese skills are advantageous)
- Very good SAP and MS Office skills required
- International Travel willingness (including long distance trips to Asia)
- High level of analytical thinking, structured working approach and interest in field of expertise,
- Problem-solving and decision-making attitude
- Good communication and negotiation skills (experience with Chinese suppliers is an advantageous)
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers

Gross monthly salary for Austria: from €4,500.00 (according to collective agreement, full-time), overpayment possible depending on professional qualifications and experience.
