**The Role**

In this diverse and rewarding role you will work closely with the Vinnies Vans and other "pop-up" hubs, engaging with individuals facing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Your main responsibilities will include providing case work support, guidance, and referral pathways to help people access the resources they need.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Engaging with persons sleeping rough and individuals at risk of homelessness
- Working within a trauma-informed framework, prioritising the dignity of each client
- Referring clients to appropriate internal and external services to address their needs and support their goals
- Advocating on behalf of clients at Government Departments, Courts, and other service providers
- Providing support with a non-judgmental and inclusive attitude, while respecting client rights and maintaining confidentiality
- Assisting and/or supervising a variety of client activities as directed
- Developing case plans with clients, working together to establish and achieve goals and objectives
- Maintaining client records and case notes in compliance with organisational policies
- Meeting service targets set by the manager, Society, and external agencies
- Collecting and collating statistics and data as required
- Attending staff meetings and training sessions as directed
- Working collaboratively with internal and external agencies to support transfers and relocations as needed

**You will need**:

- Minimum TAFE Certificate IV or currently undertaking tertiary study, in welfare or related field
- Previous experience providing support to marginalised and vulnerable people
- Must be flexible with working hours & able to work some evening & morning shifts to meet client needs.
- Excellent rapport builder and ability to communicate well with a diverse range of people
- Awareness of appropriate local community support services for homeless clients
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with service providers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to use sound judgement in crisis and emergency situations
