**Your personal sphere of influence**:
In the group of **Univ.Prof.Dr. Christoph Rademacher** at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Vienna is a PhD position in the Marie Slodowska-Curie Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN) "AUREUS" available. The aim of the AUREUS network is to train a new generation of researchers as a response to the increasing need for a highly qualified work force in the field of chemical biology to counteract multidrug resistant S.aureus infections.

AUREUS’ intersectoral program is based on a unique international team, including companies, combining expertise in from different fields including chemistry, (micro-)biology and immunology.

**Your future tasks**:
You will acquire complementary skills to exploit and develop different and innovative strategies to:

- working and maintaining primary cells under sterile condition
- s

gain greater insights into the molecular recognition of S. aureus WTA by the human immune system

harness the acquired knowledge to rationally design and develop effective small molecule inhibitors and immune-based therapies against S. aureus and related bacterial species

For this you will need to work and maintain primary cells under sterile conditions, establish cell lines using lentiviral transduction, study cell signaling pathways using reporter gene assays. Formulation of nanoparticles using microfluids is a requirement. A general understanding about innate immunity would be a plus.
