Parent Sourcing Planner

**Description**:
We're hiring a **Parent Sourcing Planner.**

You will serve as the connection between parent planning and execution activities, including parent sourcing and delivery monitoring. Your primary responsibility of would be to support the execution of the commercial and parent field plans by ensuring delivery of basic seed to production locations. You will need to understand the parent business at a high level in order to successfully implement parent strategy and ensure parent seed is available in the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost to the business.

**Your Challenge**:

- Lead parent sourcing process to commercial and parent production locations.
- Coordinate seed movement for segmented supply chain.
- Implement supply chain management techniques to proactively monitor conditioning, treating, and delivery progress.
- Monitor order fulfillment metrics and generate dashboards to ensure the Parent team is successfully meeting SPSC Goals.
- Lead parent sourcing process to commercial and parent production location
- Analyze demand, translate into supply plan and communicate regularly updated needs to sourcing locations
- Create requisitions in systems (SAP)
- Select seed lots for usage based on quality and end-use, track and report changes.
- Evaluate requirements of customers such as phytosanitary restrictions and certification requirements. Coordinate plant conditioning, treating, and bagging schedules and tagging requirements with locations.
- Maintain variance requests as needed
- Assist with inventory management and quality supply activities in coordination with local plants and global parent teams
- Follow-up with supplying locations
- Coordinate seed movement for segmented supply chain, and manage information flow between parent and commercial locations.
- Coordinate Harvest Priorities and Balance Work Load
- Determine priority and timing of harvest activities by location and communicate. Monitor and adjust activities in order to balance work load across locations.
- Coordinate Seed Movement Priorities
- Determine method and timing of shipment. Work to ensure seed is not harmed or security of germplasm jeopardized. Manage shipping costs and timeliness and communicate air/ocean split decisions. Work with Regulatory Affairs groups, outside agencies, etc. to understand phytosanitary, certification, import/export, and other regulatory or commerce restrictions that impact the movement of seed. Manage seed movement to and from winter production locations worldwide.
- Implement supply chain management techniques to proactively monitor conditioning, treating, and delivery progress. Lead/Serve as key contributor to Parent Control Towers, Rough Cut Capacity Reviews, and Parent Playbook Meetings.
- Create and monitor RCCP for Parent conditioning, treating, and delivery
- Coordinate with planning on proper goal setting of Parent Delivery Date.
- Develop dashboards for monitoring Parent Order Fulfillment metrics.
- Serve as main contact with select regions and run Control Towers to ensure collaboration, communication, alignment, and issue identification and mitigation.
- Contribute to Parent Playbook, defining and outlining key processes, and updating team on progress/issues.
- Monitor order fulfillment metrics and generate dashboards to ensure the Parent team is successfully meeting SPSC Goals. Collaborate with cross regional planning to insure plan feasibility.

**Qualifications**:** To Grow What Matters, You Will Need**
- Bachelor's degree in Ag Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field of study is required
- 2+ years of Supply Chain or related experience required
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Fluency in English,
- Organization, time management, and communication skills that allow for working in a multitask environment are required.
- Team skills with ability to work and interact with people from diverse backgrounds.

- The following skill sets are preferred:

- Knowledge of agriculture and seed production
- Working knowledge of inventory systems, such as SAP R/3
- Six Sigma and/or LEAN certification
- Ability to organize data, perform analysis, and develop dashboards to inform and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders
- Ability to provide training for proper use of computer systems.
