**Institute for Political Economy of Public Policy**
40 hours/week (Assistant Professor, non-tenure track) or 30 hours/week (Teaching and research associate)
Starting October 01, 2023, and ending after 6 years

- social science methodology and
- political economy of political institutions or
- economic and social policies.

**What to expect**:

- **Teaching responsibilities**: You will be contributing to the institute’s research methodology courses on the bachelor and/or masters level
- **Research**: You will conduct research in the aforementioned fields and publish in political science journals and journals in related disciplines
- **Organizational duties**:You will take over and participate in organizational and administrative tasks of the institute
- **Supervision**: You will be (co)supervising bachelor and/or masters theses.

For teaching and research associate (pre-doc) positions:

- **Writing a dissertation**:You will be investigating your research topic and spending a third of your working hours on writing your dissertation.

**What you have to offer**:

- **Academic degree and experience (pre-doc position)**: You have a diploma/master’s degree in Economics, Political Science or related disciplines that qualifies you for enrollment in a doctoral program at WU. You already have an idea for a promising dissertation project.
- **Academic degree and experience (post doc position)**:You hold a PhD in Political Science or Economics and have a lively research agenda
- **Research experience**: You have strong quantitative research skills and advanced knowledge of methodology.
- **Coding skills**: You have advanced knowledge in Stata, R, Python or similar programming languages.
- **Language skills**: You have excellent written and spoken English as well as communication skills, knowledge of German is considered a plus.
- **Willingness to use multimedia teaching methods**:You have experience in using multimedia teaching and learning formats or are willing to learn.

The minimum monthly gross salary for an Assistant Professor, non-tenure track amounts to €4,351.90 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on equivalent prior work experience.
The minimum monthly gross salary for a Teaching and research associate amounts to €2,457.98 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on job-related prior work experience.
