Location/Division Specific Information
The Director, HR Business Partner, will serve as the Strategic HR liaison for the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients Business Unit (API) global business unit and will be responsible for developing HR strategies globally and leading all aspects of Human Resources for a full P&L business. This individual contributor position will lead and champion business unit wide Talent initiatives, change management efforts, Organizational development and provide Functional HR business partnership across five sites in North America and Europe.
As the HR Business Partner, this person will work closely across a highly global matrixed environment, engaging and aligning with business leaders, HR field teams in multiple countries, and HR centers of excellence (COE) to identify gaps and opportunities, and together develop the go-forward winning solutions. The HR Business Partner will be part of the Business Unit (BU) Senior Leadership Team and the HR Drug Substance Division (DSD) Leadership team. As such, the role will include supporting certain Division wide initiatives and/or clients as needed.
**How will you make an impact?**
As a trusted advisor to the business, the HR Business Partner will translate business strategy and objectives into goals and workforce plan in alignment with business imperatives (talent management, organizational development, performance management, career development, employee relations, compensation planning and change leadership). The incumbent will demonstrate learning and leadership agility, showing a curiosity and passion the mission, setting priorities and taking action in an organized, proactive manner.
**A Day in the Life**:
- Partner with the BU Leader and their leadership team to meet BU strategic objectives through their people while supporting the divisional objectives.
- Facilitates and leads organizational diagnosis and metrics to drive organizational effectiveness through talent and organizational capabilities and culture. Acts as a motivator for change; guides and directs organizational design, development and change management solutions.
- Develop a proven strategic people plan to support and drive the needs of the business, including attracting, developing and retaining top talent including opportunities for process improvements.
- Stays ahead of CDMO industry market trends as well as and functional trends and uses these insights to develop appropriate global HR solutions.
- Coaches senior leaders on complex leadership and HR issues including development and talent performance and issues which could have the potential to create a competitive advantage for the business.
- Act as a change agent and lead key change management initiatives for the business. Participate in the broader division and group HR team to drive HR projects and initiatives.
- Partner with site, HR and Business leaders to be responsible for and provide guidance on activities, shape culture and drive employee engagement.
- Partner with the DSD HRVP and DSD HR Leadership to drive business results through people.
**Keys for Success**:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, HR or related field is required. A strong skill for business and financial savvy is highly recommended.
Experience
- 8+ years of confirmed experience in all aspects of Human Resources and as a HR Business Partner who has supported global clients.
- Experience as the lead HR Business Partner for a full P&L business and experience supporting multiple manufacturing operations strongly preferred.
- Experience successfully operating in a highly matrix organization environment. Ability to implement and influence across geographic/functional lines around the world.
- Experience with European workers councils preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Demonstrated experience in developing strategic solutions, yet able to plan, implement locally to drive and deliver business results.
- Ability to organize detailed data into information, communicate the business story, and explain data for varying audiences in a concise manner.
- Shown consultative HR experience, with a strong bias for action and results.
- Ability to implement and influence across geographic/functional lines and work within a global matrixed model.
- Ability to gain trust, respect, and support through business knowledge and functional competence.
Willingness and ability to travel.
