To strengthen our international and multidisciplinary research team, we are looking for an enthusiastic and well-organized Technical Assistant (f/m/d) with a strong interest in genetics, immunology and pediatric cancer. The new team member will substantially contribute to the maintenance and optimization of our streamlined workflow for NGS-based genetic analyses, the overall operation of the lab, and research documentation, as well as the establishment of a structured precision oncology program. He/she will also be involved in the development and implementation of novel assays, tools, and infrastructure, which include the migration of our current patient/genetic database to a new IT platform and the systematic and safe exchange of data with international research institutions.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Contribution to general lab management as part of the weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly rotating lab duties schedules (e.g. ordering, preparation of general reagents, sample processing, and others) as well as training of new lab members
- Cell Culture: Isolation and culturing of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and nucleic acid isolation from human samples; maintenance of primary cell cultures and cell lines; generation and establishment of genetically modified cell lines (transfection/transduction)
- Molecular biology: basic design and cloning of recombinant proteins/constructs, plasmid DNA purification
- Genetics/Genomics: PCR (incl. primer design), conventional (Sanger) sequencing, next generation sequencing-based methods (e.g. exome sequencing, genome sequencing, ATAC-Seq, RNAseq)
- Interpretation, reporting and documentation of genetic findings to external collaborators and into a local database
- Contribution to the certification and accreditation of processes according to ISO 9001 and ISO 15189.

**Your profile**:

- University or University of Applied Sciences degree in Life Sciences or a related field
- Proven experience in genetics, and standard molecular biology techniques (e.g. PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, recombinant protein purification); previous experience in NGS-based methods is of advantage
- BMA diploma would be a plus
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English and German
- Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and pay attention to detail
- Knowledge of ISO-9001 certification and ISO-15189 accreditation processes would be a plus
