The U.S. Embassy in Vienna is recruiting for a

Consular Assistant (M/F/d)

The incumbent handles accountable items, including passport books and visa/passport foils, performs quality assurance checks, prints visas, and creates limited validity passport books. They interact with the public at consular interview windows and respond to customer inquiries. In addition, the incumbent responds to crisis events, including conducting outreach visits and taking phone calls from the public and independently manages a portion of the section’s administrative needs and serves as a back-up cashier.

**Qualifications we seek**: We are looking for an efficient team-player with effective communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service orientation. Skills also helpful are the ability to interpret complex regulations and to interact with a wide range of characters.

**Requirements**: Completion of Secondary School; min. two years administrative and customer service experience; fluency in English and German; proficiency in Microsoft 365; knowledge of accountancy and managing cash principles.
