**Your responsibilities**
- Specify and implement methods for **machine learning, computer vision and image understanding as well as 3D reconstruction** and **3D point cloud analytics **for object detection, semantic segmentation and classification tasks
- Extend, integrate and deploy such methods as components in our existing production-ready **SIEAERO **software solutions**:

- Be active part of internal and publicly funded research projects to advance our approach to AI-based analytics of linear infrastructures
- Overview of relevant computer vision developments and trends in academia and impactful transfer of relevant technologies into SIEAERO software solutions
- Help our junior colleagues to grow; manage a team of students for research and support tasks

**Your Profile**
- Reputable scientific education (PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar)
- Several years of experience in development of deep learning algorithms for image processing and in developing, training, validating, and improving AI models
- Design, implementation, and evaluation of algorithms based on a description, ideally in an AI/ML context with platforms and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe, OpenCV and PCL
- Experience with computer vision, machine learning for large data sets, ideally also with 3D data processing and deep learning in 3D data
- Knowledge in geoinformatics, projectivegeometry and 3D reconstruction / photogrammetry is favourable
- Solid programming and development skills (e.g., Python, C/C++, Matlab), ideally in a Linux environment
- Experience on working with scientific literature
- Solid English language skills, German would be helpful
- You are eager to never stop learning
- You enjoy working independently within a team of researchers and developers and you are comfortable to react flexibly to frequent changes
- You show enthusiasm for what you do, creativity in how you approach problems, think critically, be strong in communication with the team and our customers
- Ideally, you have previous experience in a startup or similar fast-moving organization and are willing to dive into this adventure with us
