Do you enjoy working with young people, are you curious and would you like to pass on your expertise to the next generation? As a guest professor, you play an essential part in the education of our students.

**Your role**:
You will be employed as a full-time guest professor (replacement) in the field of Applied Linguistics of contemporary English. You have an international reputation in one or more of the areas within Applied Linguistics, e.g. Educational Linguistics, Discourse Studies, English as a Lingua Franca, Media Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, or World Englishes. Your responsibilities will include teaching several courses in our study programmes (Bachelor & Master of Arts, and Bachelor & Master of Education) and contributing to the research in Applied Linguistics conducted at the department.

The position is limited to 31.01.2025 and is planned to be filled from 01.10.2024.

**Your tasks**:
You actively participate in teaching and research, which means:

- Teaching up to eight hours a week (approx. four courses)
- Taking on any administrative tasks required for teaching
- Supervision of bachelor theses
- Contributing to research on Applied Linguistics (including giving one or more guest lectures)

**Your profile**:

- You have a PhD in Applied Linguistics (of English)
- You have several years of relevant teaching experience at Bachelor and Masters level
- You have experience with online teaching and e-learning platforms
