The TU Wien, Institute of Chemical, Environmental and Biosciences Engineering, Research Group Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics at the IFA Tulln campus, has a vacant position for a **Project Assistant** starting April 2023 (30 hours per week, 1 year contract, extension to 3 years planned and funded) with the following job profile.

Your tasks:

- Research in the KIRAS Project SEWAT (see QR-Code for information)
- Development of in-field, molecular detection methods of water quality for mobile drinking water treatment systems for disaster management
- Field work and microbiological and molecular biological work in the labs of the ICC Water&Health
- Writing a dissertation, scientific publications and participation in conferences

Your profile:

- Completed master's or diploma studies in biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, microbial ecology or similar disciplines
- Basic knowledge and practical experience in the fields of cultivation of microorganisms and molecular biological analysis (e.g. PCR, qPCR, sequencing)
- Interest in scientific work and in writing scientific publications
- Ready and willing to do work in the field and in the labs of project partners in Vienna and Lower Austria
- Reliable and independent way of working
- Friendly, open manner and ability to work in a team
- Good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
- B driving license desirable

Wir bieten:

- Part-time position as project assistant (30h/week), gross salary € 2458/month (14x per year)
- Work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team with national and international cooperation partners from academia, companies and organizations (Austrian military, Austrian Red Cross, German military)
- The main workplace is at IFA Tulln in Tulln, Lower Austria, close to Vienna. If required, you will occasionally do field work and work in the ICC Water&Health laboratories in Vienna and Lower
