At the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies of the University of Vienna the position of a

**Tenure-Track Professorship**

**for the field of**

**Gender History of Political Ideas in Central and Eastern Europe in the 20th Century**

(full-time position) is to be filled.

The tenure-track professorship is being established in order to make visible the significance of feminist political thought of that region for a pan-European history of feminist thinking. Special interest will be paid to political and social upheavals and transformation processes of the 20th century and their interconnections and interactions with feminist models of thought.

The applicant should represent the fields of gender history and intellectual history of the 20th century with a special focus on Central and Eastern Europe in research and teaching. We are looking for applicants with experience in combining approaches of gender history and intellectual history, who have particular regional expertise for Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe. The temporal focus should be on the 20th century; we would also appreciate close cooperation with the Research Center for the History of Transformations (RECET) and involvement in undergraduate teaching.
- The successful applicant must have obtained an excellence grant - ERC (ERC Starting Grant, ERC Consolidator Grant) or FWF-START
- Doctoral degree/PhD and at least two years post-doctoral experience at a university or other research institution
- Outstanding achievements and potential in research, excellent publication record, international reputation
- Experience in designing and participating in research projects, ability to lead research groups, willingness to acquire third-party funding
