AQT already enables its customers to install quantum computers on site or to use them via a convenient cloud solution. AQT supports research customers with quantum hardware components and complete solutions that significantly accelerate the development of quantum optics experiments. We are now looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our team in Innsbruck, Austria as a Network Administrator.
**Your role**
The Network Administrator is a new role at AQT, reflecting our need for operating a very reliable network infrastructure for running our quantum computing systems in a small-scale datacenter style. The role is focused on the growing number of quantum computing systems at various international AQT locations, and primarily entails installing, managing, operating, and updating the network infrastructure, its appliances and end-points, which range from servers to laptops. Your responsibilities cover the planning, implementation, and maintenance of network services and solutions, like firewalls, wifi APs, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, NTP, VLAN, VRF, and others. It is of key importance to ensure their uninterrupted and reliable operation at all AQT locations as well as within the internal networks of the AQT quantum computing systems. You will connect a handful of AQT locations on campus and at remote places using dynamic routing with OSPF and BGP, as well as provide VPN connectivity for AQT employees and contractors, preferably with high availability setups. Additionally, you will run state-of-the-art intrusion detection systems and network monitoring setups, and put AQT in a position to actively make its infrastructure more secure and reliable on a day-to-day basis. Finally, you are expected to be a reliable and responsive point of contact for various internal AQT stakeholders and users.
**Your responsibilities**
- Installing, maintaining and managing network appliances (such as firewalls, switches, routers, APs, NAS, LDAP, and others)
- Monitoring health and status of network appliances
- Alerting system in case of failures and outages to reduce down-time
- Administrating and setting up systems for user management and VPN access
- Assisting in debugging and diagnosing network problems, including quantum computing systems
- Establishing network documentation, and keeping it up-to-date
- Running intrusion detection systems
- Performing network vulnerability testing and implementing counter measures
- Supporting internal AQT stakeholders in relevant areas
**Your qualifications**
- BSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to set up and configure network hardware
- Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
- Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- You are proactive, have great problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Preference to work in a collaborative environment with highly-skilled colleagues
- Good communication skills in spoken and written English

**Your salary**
Austrian law stipulates that the formal minimum salary of EUR 37 559.20 per year, according to Collective Bargaining Agreement, must be specified in job postings. Please note that, according to your experience and skills, we are typically paying much more.
