**Institute for International Business**
Fulltime, 40 hours/week
Starting October 01, 2023, and ending after 6 years
You have decided to pursue an academic career and want to conduct research, teach, and be an active member of the scientific community in your field? This position is the next step in your career in research.
**What to expect**:
- **Independent research work**: You will be expected to work in the field of International Business with a specific focus on the political environment, e.g. political risk, political developments, supranational institutions. You will be independently gathering data, working with cooperation partners and companies to conduct research with practical relevance, and publishing your findings in top journals
- **Teaching**: You will be planning and teaching courses and holding exams
- **Student support**: You will be available to answer students’ questions and act as an advisor for bachelor’s theses and as a co-advisor for master’s theses
- **Organizational and administrative support**: You will be organizing and evaluating teaching activities, planning exams, keeping the budget in mind, and acquiring third-party funding
- **Learning from top researchers**: You will be working together with renowned researchers in your field and learning from them
- **Teamwork**: At the institute, you’ll be working to advance research in your field together with an experienced team
- **Building up a professional network**: You will be using the post-doc phase to establish yourself as a researcher and expand your own professional network
**What you have to offer**:
- **A PhD degree**: You have graduated with excellent grades from a doctoral degree program focusing on International Business. Academic awards for PhD work are a plus
- **First academic papers**: You have strong skills in gathering quantitative and qualitative data and have already published academic papers focusing on the political environment (e.g. political risk, political developments, supranational institutions) in publication outlets in the International Business field. Papers under review or in R&R stage at leading International Business outlets are a plus
- **Language skills**: You speak excellent English and have at least a working knowledge of German
- **Teaching experience**: Experience with teaching classes in the field of International Business in tertiary institutions is a must. Teaching experience at another university or in a university network is a plus
- **Experience with supervising student theses**: Experience with supervising BSc and MSc theses is a must. Experience with supporting the supervision of MBA or PhD students is a plus
- **Willingness to use multimedia teaching methods**: You have experience in using multimedia teaching and learning formats or are at least willing to learn
- **IT skills**: You are familiar with MS Office and R. An ability to work with major firm-level databases and company documents is a key requirement for this role
- **Working style**: You work independently, show initiative, and have good self-organization skills

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €4,351.90 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on equivalent prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
