Process Technician

**Full-time position at our R&D Hub in Leoben**

**About you**

You are a dedicated scientist/engineer who is keen to develop innovative technologies and sustainable solutions for the global technology leader in refractories. You can channel your creativity into solutions for ambitious technical challenges and bring ideas from proof of principle to implementation. You are open-minded, proactive and enjoy working and communicating with colleagues of different areas and levels from the shopfloor up to the plant manager. You like to work at your office desk analyzing process data but also are not afraid to get your hands dirty when doing trials and optimizations in the production units. In this role you will travel internationally up to ~ 50% of your work time to our different production plants.

**In addition, you have**:

- Higher technical education (MSc or PhD in either Process Engineering, Environmental and Energy Process Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or similar course of studies)
- Ideally relevant work experience in managing technical projects in the refractory or similar industries
- Proficiency in English; German will be considered an asset
- Very experienced MS Office user knowledge, especially Excel
- Ideally major skills in statistics and data processing (e.g., Python)
- Driving license category B

**About the job**

As a process technician you are based at our R&D hub in Leoben and you are responsible for the development and optimization of production processes, based on practical trials, theoretical expertise, and process data analysis. In this role you will - together with our dedicated interdisciplinary team - work with state-of-the-art equipment and highly innovative methods and tools, as well as directly report to the head of department.

**Your tasks will include**:

- Initiation and management of R&D projects in the area of process technology
- Analysis and optimization of existing process parameters in trials, based on data analysis
- Creation of Digital Twins of production equipment, based on process data
- Support and troubleshooting for the production plants, quality managers and other relevant stakeholders
