Director Overland Austria

For 40 years, we have served our clients with our Air, Ocean, Road, and Warehousing portfolio and as we look to continue our growth, we are recruiting a forward thinking Director of Overland to join our well-established and successful Head office in Fischamend, Austria.

We have enjoyed another very successful year here at cargo-partner and our ambitious expansion plans are in full flow after recently opening new offices in Spain, Mexico, and India and with new offices set to open later this year across Europe, the US, and Asia adding to our 4000+ workforce in 160 offices across 40 countries.

In this key business role, you will be responsible for our Road, Logistics, and Parcel services in an overarching function and will report to the Managing Director Austria as well as to the Corporate Product Directorates. The post holder will oversee 130+ headcount across these three divisions and will focus on medium to long-term development and use their expertise to help grow our overland operation in Upper Austria.

This position will best suit a hands on, communicative leader, that has exceptional knowledge of Road Transport products and a strong understanding of the Austrian market. The incumbent will also need to be results driven with a commercial acumen and the appetite to expand our entire overland product.

**Director Overland responsibilities**:

- Optimize and expand operational processes as well as the Road, Logistics and Parcel products
- Expand the locations in Austria whilst maintaining exceptional relationship management with Key Accounts
- You will be responsible for Profit & Loss for the corresponding operational areas, including the implementation of measures
- Take the lead on the expansion of special sales including contract negotiations
- Use your expertise to assist in cross-country tenders and participate in smaller acquisitions

- A minimum of 10 years of forwarding and logistics experience as general manager, senior product manager or similar function
- Profound knowledge in the areas of trucking, parcels and (warehouse) logistics combined with high IT affinity
- University degree in SCM or international logistics an advantage
- Dynamic, proactive sales personality with entrepreneurial mindset and strong networking character
- Very good German and English skills \u007C other foreign languages are an advantage as well
- Proficient IT skills
- Experience managing large teams
- An appetite to succeed in a growing global business
