**Business Finance Manager**
An opportunity has arisen for a talented finance professional to join the Virtual Test
Division of HBK, a Platform company of Spectris plc (FTSE 250, SXS). The Business
Finance Manager is a wide-ranging role, reporting to CFO of the Virtual Test Division,
performing key reporting, planning and business analysis tasks for the principal
businesses within the division and supporting the development and sharing of best
practices.
The Business
The HBK Virtual Test Division is a leading supplier of simulation and real-time
computing solutions for the Automotive and Aerospace & Defense industries. The
division’s products assist customers in their development of technologically advanced
components and products. The division was created when Spectris acquired VI-grade in
August 2018. Since this time VI-grade completed two further acquisitions (RightHook
- San Jose, Imtec - Berlin) as well as the purchase of two Intellectual Property portfolios.
In July 2021 Spectris completed the acquisition of Concurrent Realtime - the
combination of Concurrent Real-time and the VI-grade group of companies created the
HBK Virtual Test Division.
The division currently has approximately 260 staff in 11 countries and is expected to
deliver revenues on an annualised basis of in excess of €75m, growing at >10% per
annum organically.
Job Purpose
To support Virtual Test Division CFO with Business Finance tasks for reporting and
growth planning as well as developing best practice processes for analysing key business
trends and performance.
The business has significant growth aspirations driven both organically and through
further bolt-on acquisitions and we expect there will be significant opportunity for career
progression within Virtual Test, broader HBK or the Spectris Group.
Key Responsibilities
Working within the finance department, reporting directly to CFO, Virtual Test Division,
the Business Finance Manager will perform the following:
- Support monthly close process within Spectris consolidation system.
- Perform monthly variance analysis to explain fluctuations in trading
- performance from Budget, Forecast or versus prior year.- Run the regular planning process for HBK Virtual Test Division working with the
HBK central FP&A team: Budget, quarterly reforecasts and strategic planning
process.
- Manage quarterly R&D and Capex reporting as well as developing project and
capex business cases where relevant.
- Perform analysis of revenue resilience with specific focus on the development of
the recurring revenue base.
- Work with commercial team on product profitability and pricing strategy.
- Potentially support Virtual Test CFO on M&A activities.
- Relevant accounting/finance qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, CFA etc.)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in reporting, forecasting and business analysis
- for a similar international business- Experience working with ERP systems, SAP preferred (S4-HANA a plus), as
- well as group financial consolidation systems.- Knowledge of IFRS accounting desirable but not required.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools and concepts, such as dashboards,
- are desirable but not required.- Knowledge of engineering, technology or software industries desirable but not
- required.- Experience presenting business analysis to key stakeholders.
- High commercial awareness with effective influencing and communication skills
as well as strong emotional intelligence. An awareness of cultural differences is
essential.
Location
The role will be based at CCRT’s offices in Pompano Beach, Florida.
