Ihre Aufgaben in dieser Position beinhalten:

- Conducting cutting-edge research in the field of spatial histology with a focus on linking liquid and tissue biopsies
- Expanding the existing computational image analysis pipelines
- Establishing and leading an internationally recognized research group
- Teaching undergraduate courses for medical students in German
- Teaching graduate courses, supervising diploma and PhD students and mentoring and promoting young researchers in English
- Acquiring third-party funding and taking the lead in such research projects
- Writing and publishing high-quality scientific papers in reputable journals
- Establishing and maintaining networks through local, national and international research collaborations
- Supporting scientific and public outreach in the research area (public lectures, media, etc.)
- Actively participating in the organization and management of the Division of Cell Biology, Histology and Embryology and the Gottfried Schatz Research Center, including on matters related to teaching

Für diese Position bringen Sie folgende Qualifikationen und Kenntnisse mit:

- PhD or MD/PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in biochemistry, medical sciences or a related field
- Profound research expertise in the field of cancer-related spatial histology and liquid/tissue biopsy
- Expertise in computational image analysis
- Proven track record of high-quality publications and peer-reviewed research grants or other third-party funding
- Previous experience in teaching medical students and/or (co)supervising pre
- and postgraduate students (depending on the applicant’s career stage)
- Postdoctoral research fellowship abroad or at a different institution than where the PhD was completed of at least 6 months
- High level of proficiency in both written and spoken German and English (equivalent to proficiency level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Statutory information: The minimum remuneration is based on the collective agreement for university employees (KV - 49.2). A higher salary for this position is contingent upon qualifications and may be negotiated with the rector.

SARS-CoV-2 vaccination according to the recommendation of the Austrian National Vaccination Committee (NIG) is required for entrance to Med Uni Graz in the clinical area and in nonclinical areas where contact with patients is possible (hygiene, genetics, pathology, forensic medicine). In any case, proof must be furnished of the basic immunization series (3 vaccinations). In all other areas, applicants with the basic immunization series will continue to be preferred (when they are equally qualified).
