The Service Unit BOKU Core Facilities, Core Facility Food & Bio Processing is currently seeking a

**Postdoctoral Research Associate (Senior Scientist)**

Duration of employment: 1st of June 2023 - permanent

Workplace: 1190 Vienna, Muthgasse 18

Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14
times per year): B1 lit. b, € 4.351,90

**Responsibilities**

Scientist (Postdoc) managing the BOKU Core Facility Food & Bio Processing
Supporting academic and industrial partners in research and development tasks through

process design and optimization, prototyping and trainings
Planning and coordination of pilot plants trials and related analyses
Knowledge on process-product interactions, based on a profound engineering background,

also linked to support functions in the area of food microbiology, chemical, physical and
sensory analysis

Coordination of equipment maintenance and further improvement and extension of the
infrastructure

Promoting the Core Facility through stakeholder and customer management and public
relation activities

Administrative tasks related to the preparation of concepts and quotations as well as the use
of Core Facility management tools

Writing of reports and raising of external funds for research infrastructure
Support of teaching activities

**Required skills and qualifications**

Doctorate degree/PhD in Food Technology, Biotechnology, or similar, with a focus on process
engineering

Language skills: German (fluent), English (fluent)
Significant theoretical and hands-on experience with design and optimization of processes

and equipment
Previous experience in pilot plant operation, trial planning, and reporting to stakeholders from

industry and academia
Didactic skills and proof of successful teaching activities
Experience in acquisition and management of infrastructure and/or research projects
Ability to communicate complex information clearly
Independent way of working, high motivation, and willingness to support the team
