**ABOUT THE ROLE** The AFL is seeking a Business Analyst to act as a liaison between AFL departments by collecting, analysing, developing, documenting and communicating high quality, detailed business requirements and processes to assist with ongoing business ownership, system reviews and achieve AFL goals. **A DAY IN THE LIFE OF** **_Key Accountabilities:_** - Evaluate and document AFL’s systems and existing (“As Is”) processes by facilitating workshops and information gathering sessions - Conduct business process mapping exercises and business process optimisation - Work closely with AFL teams and entities to document functional business requirements, covering the end-to-end solution. - Conduct a gap analysis and review and recommend “To Be” processes - Identify technology opportunities that support AFL strategies and performance - Compile scoping documents based on business requirements - Assist with the preparation of project materials, requirement scenarios, user test cases, user acceptance testing plans, training materials, requirements traceability matrix and post implementation reviews (as required) - Assist in the development and co-ordination of user acceptance testing (UAT) - Determine how solutions may impact existing work processes and systems, and how to manage the integration of new systems. - Work with departments to identify best practice processes that will enable achievement of business benefits and focus on driving value for money from technology investments - Other ad hoc projects and responsibilities as required **OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER** **_Core Competencies:_** - Solid understanding of existing business processes, the key drivers and measure for success - Relationship Management/interpersonal – effective collaboration and communication and the ability to facilitate cross functional work - Strong Negotiation and interpersonal skills enabling effective interaction and engagement with stakeholder, as well as the capability to influence staff, peers and external stakeholders - Be able to translate technical and business language to multiple stakeholders - 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst converting business requirements into functional/technical specifications. BABOK qualifications would be looked upon favourably, although not essential - Demonstrated skills and capabilities in systems analysis and design, focusing on process improvement - Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (O365) - Demonstrates amazing interpersonal and collaborative skills, a strong customer focus and a proven level of customer support
