Our game is for everyone, and we strive to be a workplace for everyone.   Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.   **ABOUT THE ROLE**   _This position is a max term parental leave cover until 14 February 2025._   The Photography Unit Manager is the key point of contact within the AFL Photography Team for AFL Departments, Clubs, Commercial Partners and other stakeholders.   Reporting to the Creative Operations Manager, the Photography Unit Manager enables stakeholder groups, both internal and external, to fulfill their photographic requirements. Through building and maintaining effective client relationships, the role ensures both photographer talent and photographic content are utilised effectively across AFL match content, campaigns and projects.   The position also contributes to the photographic programs within the wider Growth, Digital & Audience Department, in relation to the AFL and other business initiatives.   **A DAY IN THE LIFE OF**   **Stakeholder Management** - Accountable for developing and maintaining strong client relationships with AFL club media managers, AFL licensees and commercial partners, and internal AFL departments. - Contributes to and champions AFL Photos content and initiatives in line with wider departmental content strategies. - Leads negotiations for the establishment of all photographic license agreements with AFL clubs and third-party organisations, and subsequent license agreement renewals. - A key point of contact for management of the contractual relationship with Getty Images, including the allocation and tracking of Getty freelance photographers to AFL assignments. - Manages the allocation of internal and freelance photographic resources to all non-match day assignments. - Co-ordinates the creation of AFL & AFLW match-day briefs in alignment with stakeholder requirements, and subsequent communication and delivery of brief to match-day photographers. - Delivers and tracks all photoshoot and image contractual allocations for AFL clubs and other third-party subscribers, including editorial subscribers, AFL Corporate Partners and AFL Licensees. - Arranges all seasonal, major AFL events and match specific accreditations for all AFL Photos & freelance photographers. - Provides on-shoot support for all photographers on assignment as required.   **Image Management** - Oversees the availability of content within the AFL Photos Digital Asset Management system, ensuring content is searchable and may be accessed by external departments. - Oversee editing of relevant imagery from all matchday and commercial photoshoots, ensuring delivery to clients – internal and external - in line with contractual deadlines. - Provides supervision to the Casual Match Day Photo Editor to ensure consistent editing, keywording and organisation of imagery into the AFL Photos Digital Asset Management system from match-day photographic coverage. - Conducts research on image content for internal and external client campaigns and projects. - The key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders for all image and sourcing requests received through AFL’s digital asset management platform BrandHQ, advising on CBA compliance, licensing fees and other image information as required. - Manages the collation of CBA-approved imagery and ensures availability to commercial clients.   **Financial Management** - Actively monitors the revenue stream and operational expenditure associated with the Photography Unit, briefing senior management as required. - Manages the invoicing of commercial requests for imagery received through AFL’s digital asset management platform BrandHQ. - Fulfills all other ad hoc image licensing requests as required to meet business objectives.   **KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**   - Contributes to achieve revenue target for Photography department - Fulfill all negotiated photo licence agreement material to AFL Photos subscribers - Deliver all match-day and non-match day commercial and ad hoc shoot material to clients by agreed deadlines - Strong client relationships with AFL club media managers, AFL licensees and commercial partners, and internal AFL departments   **OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER**   **_Core Competencies:_** - Tertiary degree in relevant field (Information Management, Photography, Business, Communications etc.) - Working knowledge of the principles of Photography. - Competent in the use of Adobe software and other photo editing software. - Strong understanding of Digital Asset Management systems, metadata principles & database searchability. - Client centric, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships, mutually beneficial to all parties. - Ability to manage time to meet department deliverables, whilst working within a fast-paced media environment. - Displays a high level of business acumen and has a strong understanding of wider business financial objectives. - Ability to work flexibly, often under time pressure. - Team player, with the ability to work autonomously as required to deliver outcomes. -
