We are seeking a Senior Data Privacy & Records Manager to join our Data Governance team. In this permanent newly created role, you’ll be at the forefront of data retention and privacy, implementing and overseeing a robust data retention framework that ensures compliance with evolving privacy laws, including anticipated changes to Australia’s privacy standards. Domain is pioneering proactive data privacy solutions in anticipation of industry-wide reforms. With a shift toward GDPR-like standards and increased personal data rights, this role provides a unique opportunity to shape Domain’s data privacy and governance strategy, establishing our position as a trusted leader in this critical space. **Key Responsibilities** - Partner with stakeholders to assess and document current data holdings, usage, and retention requirements across business units. - Lead workshops to identify data retention needs and areas for improvement. - Build and deploy a comprehensive Data Retention Framework to support Privacy Act (APP 11) compliance and upcoming privacy reforms. - Analyze current vs. future state processes to support an enhanced data retention landscape. - Develop structured process maps and technical specifications for data retention policy implementation. - Collaborate with technical teams on data migration, risk management, and lifecycle management of records. - Educate and train team members on the Data Retention Framework to ensure long-term understanding and compliance. What we're looking for - Experience in Record Retention, Data Governance, or Cybersecurity, with a focus on data privacy. - Background in data retention and disposal practices within mid to large-sized organizations. - Analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing data challenges. - Strong communicator who can collaborate and engage cross-functional teams and deliver effective training.
