By expanding into new technology and relentlessly improving every day, we’re creating a better tomorrow for all Australians. **The day to day** Reporting to an Exchange Manager, the Network Engineer will perform: **Service Delivery** – Working on Engineering Orders, checking design, available infrastructure, fibre purchase, running & labelling of fibres, and make ready for service. **Service Assurance/Restoration** – Work closely with the GDC (Global Delivery Centre), with ticket rectification, checking services, level taking, card swaps, basic layer1 fault finding. **Preventative Maintenance** – periodic filter swaps, Monthly Generator testing, **Corrective Maintenance** – work closely with Contractors & Vendors on correcting facility issues **Transmission** – delivery of new services, and maintaining of current services, site audits when requested. Enhanced Service platform elements and associated transmission systems for mobile and fixed services at various infrastructure locations including Exchange, Controlled environmental vaults (CEV), Fibre access node (FAN) & Hubs. Majority of the work will be working within the Exchange. Expertise in working on the Network elements (interrogating and troubleshooting at system level with Transmission and in some cases, switching elements) is essential. Experience in NFVI, DWDM, Core and Edge routers is preferred. These platforms and associated infrastructure elements and services must be delivered and maintained to required business standards on a 24/7 shift work, on-call or recall arrangements to provide rapid response to critical incidents.
