Role Overview

The successful candidate will contribute to the fulfillment of tasks within the Actuarial function of Vienna Insurance Group. This includes establishing technical provisions and capital requirements under Solvency II, analyzing insurance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuary to join our team in Vienna. As a key member of the Group Actuarial, Planning & Controlling department, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive actuarial insights and support for operations. Your tasks will include:

  • Contributing to the establishment of technical provisions and capital requirements under Solvency II;
  • Analyzing and interpreting insurance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting the development of technical provisions;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive actuarial insights and support for operations;
  • Supporting VIG insurance companies in regulatory actuarial tasks.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert advice on actuarial matters related to Solvency II;
  • Developing and maintaining actuarial models and tools;
  • Analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform business decisions;
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting as required.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in mathematics or a similar field;
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in life or non-life insurance mathematics;
  • Good understanding of Solvency II regulations and basic knowledge of IFRS standards;
  • Advanced Excel skills, experience with Prophet or ResQ is an advantage;
  • A structured, independent, and detail-oriented approach to work;
  • Strong communication abilities and pleasure of collaborating in an international team;
  • Very good English skills (spoken and written), good command of German is an advantage.
