Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Expert to join our team and contribute to the development of industrial software and automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in IT and OT technologies and a passion for designing intelligent solutions.

  • Research and develop AI-based solutions for manufacturing industries, integrating with MES level components for intelligent traceability, quality analytics, recipe management, and workflow orchestration.
  • Architect and implement connectivity and analytics solutions integrated between shopfloor and MES level, driving business and industry adaptation.
  • Lead technical teams and projects consisting of other Research Scientists, Software Developers, industry customers, business unit, and research partners on developing end-to-end industrial automation solutions.
  • Consult with appropriate groups inside and outside of Siemens AG for complex domestic and international projects.
Salary

The base annual salary starts at €63,738,- (fulltime based) and can substantially rise based on your achieved education and experience levels. Working part-time from 30 hours per week is possible.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in software/system engineering, computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, or a similar field (PhD is a plus).
  • Programming skills in Java, Python, or similar languages, with authority in one language and good working knowledge in another.
  • 3+ years of experience in implementing industrial solutions in manufacturing environments, especially MES and shopfloor integration.
  • 3+ years of experience in SW product development processes for Industrial AI.
  • Skills in agile software/system engineering methodology and technologies for large-scale distributed systems, edge computing, and cloud systems (AWS, Azure), e.g., microservices, event-streaming/messaging, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps.
  • Experience building applications using deep learning frameworks like Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch in either production or research settings.
  • Knowledge in Siemens Software solutions (e.g. Industrial Edge & AI, Opcenter, Tecnomatix ProcessSimulate, Totally Integrated Automation portfolio, PLCSim Adv.) is a plus.
