Data Engineer - Configuration Expert

Join Vienna Insurance Group, the leading insurance group in Central and Eastern Europe, as a Data Engineer - Configuration Expert. In this role, you will be responsible for customizing and maintaining our established database solutions in collaboration with our internal IT department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine our reporting solutions to meet changing business requirements
  • Manage and validate data to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Create detailed dashboards, reports, data views, and analyses for various reporting purposes
  • Future-proof our toolbox by proactively looking for improvements and anticipating needs
  • Collaborate with other departments within VIG to optimize processes and ensure effective use of data

Requirements:

  • University degree in data science, economics, finance, mathematics, or a similar field
  • Proficiency in analytical software such as Excel, R, Power BI, or similar tools
  • Experience with database solutions (SAP, Oracle, MS SQL, etc.) is an advantage but not an exclusion criterion
  • Initial experience with programming (VBA, Powershell, Python, etc.) is an advantage, as smaller programming tasks are regularly required
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving orientation
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team
  • Confident and fluent in written and spoken English
