Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our Electrification division as a key member of our global purchasing team. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for leading complex global projects, managing procurement aspects, and developing strategic relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the purchasing project team in complex global projects in the Electrification sector.
- Assume project responsibility for all procurement aspects of various technologies - from the quotation phase to the start of production.
- Lead the bidding team for future programs.
- Serve as the first escalation level for program buyers within the program.
- Responsible for supplier selection/nomination and supplier development.
- Act as an interface between suppliers, developers, and strategic purchasing.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for colleagues in the department and train new employees.
- Identify and generate synergies between customer projects.
- Responsible for the co-design, further development, and improvement of purchasing processes and standards.
- Support the implementation of purchasing strategies.
- Act as a sparring partner for the Senior Manager Purchasing Electrification.
Requirements
- Completed technical education with a focus on electrical engineering, electronics, or mechatronics (HTL, FH, TU) or a business education with a technical background (e.g., HTL).
- Extensive experience as a buyer in a technical environment, ideally in the automotive industry.
- Leadership experience and/or experience in managing complex projects is required.
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.
- Very good MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required; SAP experience is an advantage.
- High flexibility and solution orientation with good problem-solving skills.
- Enjoyment of project and team work and the willingness to share knowledge.
- Excellent self-organization and time management skills.
- Confident demeanor and excellent interaction with suppliers.
- Willingness to travel (approx. 30%).
