Sterile Product Manufacturing Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Sterile Product Manufacturing Manager to join our team at Valneva in Vienna. As a key member of our commercial manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for leading daily technical activities and ensuring the smooth production of commercial vaccines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing, with experience in formulation and process development of sterile injectable products. You should also possess excellent leadership skills, including the ability to guide cross-functional teams and manage projects related to commercial vaccine production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal departments and external partners on commercial manufacturing processes.
  • Process Improvements: Develop and implement production strategies, translate ExM/product strategy into executable technical plans, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management: Oversee technical risk management and product lifecycle, including tech transfer and product launches.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct technical evaluations, identify and resolve technical issues, troubleshoot, and lead problem-solving efforts.
  • Change Control: Manage change control processes, providing technical impact assessments for change controls and product complaints.

Requirements

  • Experience: Several years of experience in large-scale commercial pharmaceutical manufacturing, with hands-on experience in a plant setting.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and guide others, especially in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge: Profound knowledge in formulation and process development of sterile injectable products, understanding of cGMP, post-approval changes, ICH guidelines, and regulatory validation.
  • Languages: Fluent in English, German is an added benefit.

About the Salary

The estimated salary for this position is approximately €70,000 gross per year based on full-time employment, which is in line with your qualifications and experience. Our salaries are market-oriented and based on individual performance.
