Strategic Procurement Manager for Metal Category

Welcome to Doka GmbH, a leading global supplier of formwork solutions. We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager for our Metal Category team.
About the RoleThis is a dynamic and challenging position that will play a key role in shaping our procurement strategy for the metal sector. As a Strategic Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing material group strategies, managing strategic supplier relationships, analyzing markets and trends, and optimizing the value chain.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in category management, preferably in the metal or raw materials sector, and excellent negotiation skills. You will also possess analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and business fluency in English and German.

Responsibilities- Develop and implement material group strategies in the metal sector
- Manage strategic supplier relationships worldwide, conducting negotiations and concluding long-term framework agreements
- Analyze markets, trends, and competitors to identify opportunities and adapt procurement strategies
- Optimize the value chain by managing projects from supplier selection to implementation of new processes and materials
- Monitor and analyze cost trends in the metal sector, identifying potential savings and implementing cost reduction measures
- Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure optimal procurement solutions
- Evaluate and minimize procurement risks through diversification of the supplier base and hedging raw material prices
- Degree in economics, engineering, materials science, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in category management, ideally in the metal or raw materials sector
- Excellent negotiation skills and business fluency in English and German
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- A competitive annual gross salary ranging from EUR 35,726 to EUR 60,000+
