Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mass Spectrometry Specialist to join our Biologics Development team at Novartis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating mass spectrometry instruments and conducting analysis of Biologics samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Method Optimization: Apply Quality-by-Design (QbD) principles to drive and execute liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) method development and optimization of assigned pipeline projects for all relevant sample matrices.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze mass spectrometry data, interpret the results, and generate detailed reports summarizing the findings.
  • Data-Driven Approaches: Utilize data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to analyze large datasets and develop data-driven approaches for method development.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support filings applying principles described in recent guidelines.
  • Documentation and Presentation: Maintain detailed records of experiments, procedures, and results, and effectively present findings through written reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other scientific and technical staff to design experiments, interpret results, and provide expertise in mass spectrometry techniques.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of mass spectrometry principles
  • Hands-on experience with various mass spectrometry techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a meticulous approach to laboratory work
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and present findings effectively
  • Expertise in applying QbD principles
  • Expertise in automation and data & digital
  • Sound technical and scientific knowledge of pharmaceutical development, analytical sciences, or equivalent
  • Significant experience in biotechnological CMC development
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Influencing without authority
