Daily Responsibilities
As the Project Engineering Manager (f/m/d) at Siemens Energy, you will take charge of a multidisciplinary team of engineering professionals, including experts in electrical, mechanical, civil, and process engineering, to successfully deliver projects within the Energy Solution Portfolio.
You will collaborate closely with the Project Management Team, including the General Project Manager and Commercial Project Manager, to engage in essential discussions with the customer's engineering consultant and your team to clarify project details.
Subsequently, you will lead your international engineering team through design and scope evaluations, ensuring thorough coordination across various disciplines and adherence to project specifications. Individual meetings with team members will be conducted to discuss scope, timelines, and budget considerations.
Your day will conclude with a strategic meeting with Site Management, setting the agenda for your upcoming site visit.
Your Impact on the Organization
- Drive energy transformation initiatives, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of Combined Cycle Power Plants and hybrid solutions on a global scale. This includes pivotal projects in advancing decarbonization efforts.
- Shape the future of energy through collaboration with external partners (customers, consultants, authorities, suppliers) and internal stakeholders, focusing on technical aspects.
- Lead, integrate, and mentor a diverse Engineering team across various fields (electrical, controls & instrumentation, process, mechanical, civil, plant layout, etc.), fostering a unified approach to project execution.
- Manage engineering-related risks and opportunities while ensuring compliance with technical contract execution and documentation standards.
Qualifications
- A university degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical project management.
- Experience in power plants and power plant equipment, including site and commissioning experience, is advantageous.
- Proven expertise in engineering fields related to power generation, transmission, distribution, and EPC markets.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to adapt strategies to meet dynamic needs.
- Capability to lead a globally dispersed Engineering team to achieve high-performance outcomes.
- Willingness to travel for limited periods (approximately 25%) to sites and customer locations worldwide as project demands arise.
