Master's Thesis: Urban Noise Prediction using Ray Tracing

We are seeking a highly motivated master's student to work on a research project focused on developing a simulation tool for predicting urban noise levels using ray tracing methods. The project aims to create a model that takes into account acoustic sources from electrical loading columns and compares its accuracy and efficiency with FEM calculations from commercial tools.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a simulation tool for predicting urban noise levels using ray tracing methods
- Conduct a literature study on state-of-the-art ray tracing and FEM simulation tools
- Develop ray tracing modeling techniques and compare them with reference FEM calculations
- Calculate relevant urban noise predictors
Requirements:
- Ongoing studies in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or technical physics
- Experience in transmission dynamics and FEM tools is appreciated
- Language: English or German
- Finite Element Software Basic Knowledge

Remuneration:
The successful completion of the thesis is remunerated with a one-time fee of EUR 3,500.-- before tax.
