Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Specialist to join our team at ams-OSRAM AG in Premstätten, Styria, Austria.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled database administrator to work with our IT outsourcing partner. As a Senior Oracle Database Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the Oracle Database Software, defining and controlling the setup of the Oracle database software to ensure optimal performance, applying patches and updates to keep the system secure and up-to-date, setting up and managing user accounts, granting appropriate access levels, defining and controlling the autonomous database backups that our outsourcing partner creates to safeguard critical data, regularly updating and enhancing database security protocols to prevent unauthorized access, creating storage database structures, designing and constructing high-security storage structures within the database, adapting storage configurations as per the evolving needs of the company, debugging and troubleshooting issues affecting database integrity, and debugging malfunctioning programs that impact database performance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, Information Systems or any other science/engineering related field
  • Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or related field
  • Familiarity with Oracle database design, coding, and documentation
  • Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL
  • Understanding of programming languages and APIs
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability and willingness to work with our IT outsourcing partner
  • Ability to visualize algorithmic structures
  • Excellent communication skills both in English and German

The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group F.
