Cyber Security Engineer

Role Summary

Locke & Mccloud is in search of a proficient Cyber Security Engineer who will be instrumental in protecting our digital resources and IT systems. This position is pivotal in our European operations, serving as the key cyber security authority in the region and enhancing our worldwide security initiatives. The responsibilities encompass leading incident management, overseeing vulnerability assessments, and executing security protocols to safeguard the organization.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Direct and manage responses to cyber security incidents, overseeing the process from detection through to recovery.
  2. Create and uphold incident response strategies and protocols.
  3. Perform vulnerability evaluations, prioritize remediation efforts, and collaborate with teams to rectify security deficiencies.
  4. Monitor security notifications, assess potential threats, and refine threat detection methodologies.
  5. Work alongside teams to embed security measures into development and deployment workflows.
  6. Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory mandates.
  7. Advise on secure configurations and best practices for new initiatives.
  8. Remain informed about emerging security threats and trends, disseminating knowledge within the team.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in cyber security, particularly in incident management and vulnerability oversight.
  3. Relevant professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH) are strongly preferred.
  4. In-depth understanding of security frameworks and best practices (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
  5. Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability assessment tools.
  6. Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.
